Hydro......ic rear strut/shocks

Hi all once again
My Thema SW has a very poor ride, there is little or no give in the suspension,
firstly can the self levelling (hrydolastic???) shock absorbers refurbished or replaced?

secondly can you replace these with ordinary shocks and blank off the pipework?

I need to do something for the next test.

Normally you would either find expensive second hand examples of unknown quality (not really ideal) or replace them with non leveling/electric shocks.

But you may find this recent thread of interest. So refurbished is an option, probably not cheap but might be worth it?

For the time being you could swap the complete shocks with second hand units so you can pass MOT. Simply unbolt the flexible hydraulic hoses from the shocks and place washers and a bolt throug this round end so the oil stays in.

You don't need new shocks unless they are leaking. You need a pair of new accumulators.

Very responsive and friendly, and correct. Did not find the time however to install the refurbished struts, so cannot guarantee the quality.

Thanks for your comments and info, in time Ill put back to orig ones but the meantime ill be using standard replacements.

wat kost dat reconditioneren dan eigenlijk? kan ik dat namelijk vergelijken met wat er zo hier en daar soms ongerestaureerd 2e hands te koop wordt aangeboden

Revisiekost is afhankelijk van de toestand van de hardchromen stangen. Als die slecht zijn en vervangen moeten worden is het volgens mij 125a150 Euro per stuk zonder BTW en zonder verzending over en weer

Dus reken maar met minimaal 300 voor twee dempers exclusief BTW.

Ik ben van plan nog een ste te laten reviseren en op voorraad te houden.
