Tacho/Speedo Failure

Bericht door Markwast » 22 aug 2012, 06:10

Hi All
Since i got the car the speedo has not worked.
I have fitted new sender which had been tested, a new speedo in dash but still nothing.

Is there something else in the electrics that im missing or do i have to strip the diff housing to get at the drive gear?

Thanks

Perhaps the new speedo in the dash is faulty?

Perhaps a mechanical failure. I would check the sender in the gearbox. Its some nylon material which can get stuck and break (wouldn't be the first time).

I have the same situation in my Alfa 164 where replacing the speedo and the sensor didn't help, so my next step is to find out if it is the mechanical parts in the transmission. I think the speedo sensor is the same in both Thema's and 164's.
